These are a little different from regular freshwater pearls. They have a bead nucleus (with thick nacre). Very high lustre, with a soft glow. Very plump oval shape. Lots of variation in colour. Smooth surfaces, a few pearls have a small area of dullness around the drill hole. Strung on Lilac silk. (I'm going to call all these MOONGLOW as the lustre of these bead nucleated freshwater pearls has a slightly softer glow than the sharper lustre of the tissue nucleated freshwater pearls). |
