Catherine Cardellini Pearls

I live in Australia's Top End, and have been very interested in all kinds of hand crafts for as long as I can remember. I made mohair teddy bears for collectors for nine years and sold them all over the world. I love to make pretty things and my preference is good quality materials.
I adore fresh water pearls; they glow in the sunlight with a dancing rainbow of colours which always catches me by surprise. In different lights their colours change.
I buy them from China, where they are grown in pearl farms; they come to me strung on temporary strands, I re-sort them, removing any that I feel are undesirable; I may sort by colour, always by size, then re-string them onto silk, knotting between each pearl. The clasps are either fine silver, sterling silver or gold filled (rolled gold), some purchased, most hand made. The hand made clasps have been very popular as they are nice and easy to do up and undo. At each end of the necklace, next to the clasp I use a 2mm or 2.5mm bead and a 3mm stardust bead, either sterling silver or gold filled and french wire (to protect the silk, and add a nice finish) to match.
Each strand of pearls will come with their own silk pouch for you to keep them when the are not being worn.
I take photos in diffused daylight. I try to get colours in my photo's as accurate as I can, but the light changes, so there is sometimes a little variation, though since they look different in different types of light here, they will at your house too. Also monitors can display colours differently. Bear in mind, the pearls are not as big as they appear in the pictures, look at the measurements, maybe compare the size of the beads on something you already have, to get an idea of their actual size.
